Museums and Heritage Galleries
All visitors will enjoy free entry to various museums, heritage galleries and visitor centres across Singapore from Aug 7 to 10. They include:

Sentosa
Sentosa is also joining the nation’s 50th anniversary by opening various attractions for free over the Jubilee Weekend.
- 7 Aug, 8.40pm: Wings of Time night show
- 8 Aug, 10am – 8pm: Sentosa Merlion (last entry 7:30pm)
- 9 Aug, 10am – 6pm: Free guided tours of Fort Siloso (last entry 5:30pm)
- 10 Aug, 8:45am – 10pm: Free Cable Car rides* (last boarding 9:30pm)
*From HarbourFront Station or any of the cable car stations on Sentosa Island.
From 7th to 10th Aug, catch Sands of Time – a 100-metre long sand sculpture exhibition which illustrate Singapore’s transformation into the modern garden city as it is today.
Singapore Science Centre
Singapore Citizens will be able to enjoy free entry to Singapore Science Centre (SCS) from Aug 7 to 10. This includes other attractions at the centre: The “Human Body Experience” exhibition, the “Interplay: Where Science Meets Art” exhibition, KidsSTOP™, Snow City, The Cliff @ Snow City and the Omni-Theatre.
Said Associate Professor Lim Tit Meng, chief executive of the SCS: “As the nation celebrates its Golden Jubilee in August, the Science Centre is happy to open its doors to Singaporeans for free over the Jubilee Weekend, and to share with them the creative and experiential science learning that we bring through our various attractions and programmes.”
All other visitors will be able to purchase day passes, priced at S$25 each, at ticketing counters.
Singapore Botanic Garden
Singaporeans and Permanent Residents can enjoy free admission to the National Orchid Garden inside Singapore Botanic Garden until Aug 31, as part of its anniversary celebrations.
There will be line-up of activities from Aug 7 to 9, such as carnival (with traditional games and crafts), free concert by local artistes, etc at this newly crowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. The official Singapore Botanic Gardens’ World Heritage Site inscription will also take place during the long weekend.
Former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station
The former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will open to public on National Day. Public can take part in an “old school-style” carnival, with bumper cars and a carousel, or catch the National Day Parade “live” broadcast.
Singapore Zoo
There will be special “attraction” organized during the Jubilee weekend, such as a flag-raising ceremony by the elephants at the zoo.
2 of the Singapore Zoo’s female Asian elephants, Jati and Gambir, will raise the Singapore flag and WRS’ SG50-inspired logo with their trunks as a trumpeting salute to the nation’s 50th birthday. The shows are available at 11.30am and 3.30pm during the Jubilee Weekend.
Additionally, month-long discounts on admission are available in August, with visitors enjoying 50% discount on admission at Jurong Bird Park, as well as 50% discount on same-day bundled tickets to River Safari and Singapore Zoo.
Sports Hub SG50 Carnival
Exciting news for those staying in the east. Sports Hub will host a carnival on 8th and 9th Aug. Visitors can try out different sports and watch a movie screening of Ah Boys to Men 3: Frogmen as well as live performances. The Sports Hub will also be showing the National Day Parade “LIVE”.
